
One of Nigeria’s leading jazz pianist, Ini Uko is putting finishing touches to his first studio solo effort, one planned to be a double album titled ‘‘Piano Sensation’’.
In a chat with the Lagos based Piano virtuoso three years ago,we quote him to have said in an answer to a question on his debut album ‘‘oh yes! thus- ‘’it in the pipeline, and before the next two years, it should be ready’’ he held.
Now we can confidently inform teeming jazz lovers and fans of Ini that ‘‘Piano sensation’’ is only a few weeks away
Volume one with 10 tracks, is an array of improvisation of popular songs people love, while volume two contains Ini’s original compositions.
Listening to about 10 tracks including 2face Idibia’s ‘‘African Queen’’, makes ‘‘Piano Sensation’’ a collector’s item. The sensation himself has proved that a debut album or any album for that matter should never be rushed, in order to get a product that will stand the test of time.
